For some reason, despite being pretty tired when I went to bed, I didn't sleep that well. I woke up a couple of times and remember having some weird dreams. I usually sleep really well and straight through the night. I wonder why I couldn't sleep. When we woke up this morning, I made a quick stop at the gas station next door before finishing packing up. Joey went a couple buildings down to the brand new little IGA store that had just opened yesterday, to get some cereal and milk. Although I walked over, Joey decided to ride over so he would get our breakfast quicker. We had a nice table and benches to eat at, but ended up eating on the steps that were further back in, simply because we were out of the wind. We didn't get as early as a start as yesterday, but still didn't do too bad. It was a tad chilly this morning because of the wind, but the sun was up and shining and there were hardly any clouds in the sky, a very nice change from yesterday morning. Almost right away, we jumped on a bike path that we found and were happy to be away from the traffic. It was one of the nicest paths we've been on. It was very smooth and since everything in this part of Florida is super flat, so was that bike path. The path paralleled the highway with a nice line of trees between us to buffer the loud sound of the vehicles screaming by. It was a very peaceful way to start the morning. Now if we could have just gotten that wind to cooperate like it did yesterday, then it would have been perfect. We took the bike path for about 10 miles or so before getting back on the road just before crossing the Suwanee River. It is kind of neat to think about crossing it because I remember crossing it (much further north of course) on the way back to NY on our last tour. We quickly found the bike path again and jumped back on it. Since it was a rails to trails trail, it was so straight and long. We could see for miles down the road and the end of it disappeared off in the distance. There were sections where the trees made a canopy and it was like we were riding through a tunnel. Joey thought this was a perfect place to practice riding with no hands on a loaded bike, so he had fun with that. There was hardly anyone on the trail today, even though it was a Saturday. That kind of surprised me because a lot of the trails that we've been on have had quite a lot of people on them. The miles were still going really slow today, nothing like yesterday, that is for sure. We eventually made it to Chiefland and had a quick little break at the table outside of McDonald's. Since we weren't sure what laid ahead of us, we decided to figure out where the grocery store was and get what we wanted for lunch before heading out of town. From there, we had about 13 more miles to get to our "half way point" for today. The wind was not helping us very much. Although it was mainly a side wind, we really felt affected by it for some reason. I was really dragging by the time lunch came around and was dreading the last half of the days ride just since the mornings ride seemed to take forever. It turns out that it was a really good thing that we bought our food when we did. The little "town" of Otter Creek only comprised of a small gas station and a little deli/convenience store. We went inside at the first place that we came to and asked if we could sit at their picnic tables for a few minutes and the lady said "why of course you may!" Such a nice lady. It really was a perfect place to have lunch. We had the tables to sit at, an overhang over us so that we were out of the sun, and there was music playing over the loud speaker. I'm glad that we continued on to get here before deciding to just stop on the side of the road because we were hungry. That is one thing that we've always done is "push it out for something better" when it comes to stopping for lunch or to take a break. It really has done us well cycling by that theory. We had mini shells and pasta again so that we could use up the rest of the bag of cheese that we had from the last batch of pasta. Pasta really does wonders. I felt a bit better after lunch and we were able to get some miles done a little quicker. Now I was actually thinking that we might just make it to Crystal River like we wanted to. The trees down the median of the road really helped a lot with the wind. It's too bad that they weren't there for the entire day's ride down this long, almost boring, stretch of highway. Two days in a row with nothing but trees between the few towns there were. We definitely didn't feel like we were in Florida anymore. Where did the road along the beautiful gulf shores go? When we were about 10 miles in to our afternoon's ride, we saw what looked like another cyclist with panniers coming down the shoulder on the other side of the road. When we got closer, it was! We pulled into one of the "U-Turn" spots in the median and waited for him. At first I thought he was just going to keep riding by if I didn't say anything. I asked where he was riding to/from, etc. We learned that he left San Diego on November 12th, right around when we were there! He came across the us and then rode down to the Keys. At the present moment he is riding back up and is thinking he wants to ride back to San Diego since he liked it so much and wasn't ready to quit. The guys name is Dwayne and he told us all about how he has walked across the US and has walked in all of the lower 48 states in different segments. We had a little boost in our riding after getting to talk to him for a couple minutes since we were excited to have seen another cyclist. The second half of today's ride was definitely a bit easier. At one point the road we were on made a pretty large turn and we were able to go a little faster because the wind was actually helping us a little at that point. After riding through the town of Inglis, we only had 11 miles left to go. I decided to put in my headphones, which really did the trick. I was able to take my mind off my sore bum and pedal to the music. The last 11 miles were a cinch, I should have put them in a long time ago. When we got into Crystal River, we were pretty excited because there were signs for the Manatees everywhere. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to figure out a place where we can see them for a little bit! We had hopes today to get a blizzard at Dairy Queen, which helped us get through the miles today, me especially since I was pretty sleepy tired from not sleeping well last night. We looked and looked, but didn't see one. We eventually ended up stopping at Burger King, hoping they would have internet, since they sometimes do, to check. Somehow I was getting free wi-fi, but the people in Burger King said there wasn't any wi-fi through them. Either way, we looked it up and it showed that we had passed it already. We were looking really hard for it as we were coming into town and didn't see it. Looking at the street view on the computer we couldn't see it either, so I'm pretty sure that it didn't exist. With that being said, we decided to just get a little snack there at Burger King. Joey got a chocolate milkshake and I got an oreo brownie sundae, which somehow ended up being cheaper than the milkshake! A nice little treat after a fairly long day. We are finally down to the area of FL again that will have a few more towns and cities and less of the long stretches of road with nothing but trees. After having our snack, we headed off to find a place to camp for the night. We ended up coming across a little church that had a security light, which is always a plus. It looked like a place that we would be out of the way and wouldn't be bothering anyone. There wasn't anyone there to ask to camp, and since it was already dark, we just went for it. We had a chance to make a couple calls home and finished up the little bit of pasta and sauce we had left over from lunch. As we were sitting in our tent, we heard a car pull into the driveway of the tent, someone say "there's a tent here" and then they disappeared into their car and were off again. We weren't sure what had happened. This is the first time that someone has seen us an not come to talk to us. About 15 minutes later, the car comes back, along with another car. Joey was already outside at that point, so he went and talked to them. Once they found out that we weren't a bunch of crazies and heard what our trip was about, they were cool with us being there. The lady that came by originally said that she saw a couple bikes and a tent and didn't know what to do. She admitted to being a little scared, which I don't blame her one bit. However, I don't know how much harm we could have done- we're on bicycles afterall. We talked to them for a little while and they told us some good places to go where we would have a good chance of seeing some Manatees. It's going to be a fun morning tomorrow on our quest to find the Manatees! The pastor let us use the bathroom before he left, which saved us a trip to the gas station. So nice! It worked out nicely that the lady had come to turn the heat on for tomorrow's 11am service. It is always nice when people know we are here and we have permission to be there. I typed for a little while before going to bed, but not as much as I have lately since I was so tired today. Our miles totaled 71.20 today. We are about 100 miles away from Uncle Ronnie's house and are getting excited about getting there. We still may go a little further south before cutting over, but it still should only be a few days days before we are in Altamonte Springs!
Last night we really did have another premier "camping" spot, just like the fire hall two nights ago. Although I don't think it ended up raining too much more last night, we slept really well knowing that we would be dry no matter what. One of the best parts about this spot was there were tables to sit at. We had bought our cereal and milk at the store last night, so we were able to wake up and have breakfast right at the table. What an enjoyable morning! We were all packed and on the road by around 8:30. After a quick stop at Subway across the street we were off riding through the misty air. I was so happy that it was only misty out and that it wasn't actually raining. The clouds lingered for the whole morning with not a glimpse of sunshine. What a difference from yesterday's riding it was. We were flying down the road since there was almost no wind at all, just clipping right along. It's was such a nice change of pace after so many days of headwinds. Before we knew it we had 20, 30, 40 miles done. We didn't even stop for lunch at our normal mileage, partly because there was pretty much nothing at all but trees for miles. When we were about 10 miles away from where we planned to stop for lunch, in Perry, Joey had a genius idea- Pizza Hut buffet. Now even though we both thought that would be simply perfect for a day like today, where we would have over 50 miles before stopping for lunch, we weren't sure if we would make it on time before the buffet ended. We figured whatever happens will happen and that we weren't going to kill ourselves trying to get there on time. Since we were going pretty fast at 70% effort or so, we were content. The last 10 miles were a little slower than the first 40 since we were starting to get really hungry and our muscles were getting a little tight. We got into the beginnings of Perry around 12:45 and were getting excited because we knew this town would be big enough to have a Pizza Hut. Now all we had to do was find it! We stopped at a gas station and asked where one was. "Three lights down, turn left and it will be about a half a mile down on your right" was what we were told. We took off down the sidewalk (because the road had no shoulder and a ton of traffic) all excited. We found our target and it was only 1:03!! The buffet goes until 1:30 and they usually don't put it away right away if there are still people "eating on it." We couldn't believe that we actually made it all the way there in time. Already 53 miles done before 1pm, it was going to be a day of lots of miles; a perfect day to fill up on pizza! I was SOOO hungry when we walked in the door and couldn't wait to start eating. That is one thing about the buffet- no cooking involved, so no waiting!! I asked if we could request our favorite kind of pizza (pepperoni and mushroom pan pizza), since they will normally make it special, and sure enough they did. That always makes it even better! I got a huge salad (they have the BEST french dressing ever- I always end up having a few salads just because of that!) and bread sticks while I waited for our special pizza to be put out on the buffet line. Between Joey and I we ate the entire pepperoni and mushroom pizza like it was nothing. Breadsticks, salad and those really tasty cinnamon sticks, we couldn't get enough. One nice thing, too, is that a lot of Pizza Huts have free Wifi now! We were able to eat our hearts out, get our internet work done and just take off out of town right from there without having to stop anywhere else. It really was perfect. After a nice long break, we hopped back on the bikes and headed out of town. The sun had actually come out and there were blue skies, no more dark grey clouds. We no longer needed our jackets, but I of course needed the sunscreen now. Once we were all prepared to ride again, we headed off. There was a bit of a tail wind even! Could today get any better?!? After our great lunch, we felt really great and were no longer tired at all. My bum is still a bit sore, but it's getting a little better every day. Other than that, the miles just flew by. For some reason Joey and I were in a super great mood and were laughing and joking around about everything the entire afternoon. I really love this flat land because I can actually keep up fairly well and we can talk the whole time. We are going to be working on a short little video for the FWM/our trip when we get to Uncle Ronnie's, as requested by John in WV. Since we were busy thinking about that, we had fun throwing lines we might say out and thinking of different things we could do in it. This could be really fun. After what seemed like a very quick 28 miles (although still not as quick speed wise as the first few miles today), we had a quick little break at a gas station before riding the last 17 miles to where we would stop tonight. Not that it's a very important note, but the clouds were really neat in the sky this afternoon and for some reason I just couldn't stop looking at them. They were kind of like little fluffs of cotton candy floating around. Other than that, more and more trees... that was all we saw on today's ride. Some were bare, some green, and some this really pretty reddish-purpley color. Neither of us believe that we were actually in Florida. When we think of FL, we think of towns everywhere and lots of people. But this "forgotten Florida" section (between Crowfordville and Cross City), as we called it, was so barren and didn't even have that much traffic on it. What a great day it was. Between the light tail wind, the flat land, the sunny skies, and of course the pizza, we felt like we could ride for ever. Even at 90 miles, I didn't feel hardly tired at all. Had there not been the issue of the approaching darkness, we would have easily been able to break our highest mileage in one day on this trip record. As we came into Cross City, the sun was setting behind us, so we knew that would definitely be where we were stopping. We found out where the grocery store was and even found a church and a McDonald's really quick. Since we almost always stop at McDondald's when we see one, that is what we did. We refilled on their great, cold, filtered water, used the restroom, and checked our email and Google maps. It is nice being in the same time zone as home now, because it makes it really easy calling home. We made a few calls and after sitting down for a while started to feel really tired. Around quarter to 8, we headed over to the church near the grocery store that we found. We were sad to see that no one was there to ask, but figured we would be safer there anyways. There was even a table and benches we could sit at- how could we get lucky enough to have a table two nights in a row!? The gas station was right next to the church too, which makes it even easier. Another perfect spot to spend the night. Joe had a chance to talk to John from WV some more about what we are going to do for the video. John is so excited about what we are doing and has worked so hard with the FWM and with setting things up so we can talk to schools and do a few other things when we get to Wheeling, WV towards the end of March. It is so nice to know someone who is so passionate about what they are doing, while at the same time so excited about what we are doing; it really does help us get "re-excited" about the trip we are on. I had time to do a little typing and feel productive despite having done a lot of miles. I am still so surprised that I don't feel super tired- after all, any other time we do this kind of miles, I usually feel completely drained. Another wonderful day; it's amazing I say this almost every day- we are so blessed. We didn't make it 100 miles, but we made it very close with our total being 97.39 today (and in a pretty good time of 7 and a half hours!!).
We slept in to about 7 this morning and ate our left over cereal and milk from yesterday for breakfast. Luckily we were underneath the pavilion at the fire hall, because it started to rain while we were eating/ packing up. It was about 8:30 before we got on the road this morning, and thankfully the rain had stopped by that time. As we were riding this morning, we kept our eyes peeled for a couple other cyclists that someone said they saw in Eastport, heading east, yesterday about 3 pm. We aren't sure if there were really other cyclists or if the people at the church that said they saw them, really saw us. Either way, since they told us last night about seeing them, we've been wondering if we were going to get to see anyone today! We rode for about 26 miles under cloudy skies before it started to pour. It really started when we were stopped at a grocery store picking up some stuff to make lunch. When we came out, the cloudy sky had finally opened up and it was coming down. We were able to find a place to get out of the rain for lunch about a half a mile down the road. A little tiny pavilion in the middle of a mineral pool park. We had lunch today around noon and had the same thing as dinner last night since it tasted so good yesterday. Amazingly, there was open internet in this little tiny park, so we were able to check the weather radar and see how long this storm was supposed to last. So much for the weather saying that it was going to be sunny all week long. It was not looking good that it would stop raining any time soon. Since we really didn't want to get soaked and ride in the rain and lightning, we decided to just stay put for a while and wait it out. It really isn't all that fun riding in the rain, and when the opportunity arises to be in a dry place for a little while, we figured that we might as well take it. I am just glad that we got the first 26 miles done before it started to rain! After lunch, there was a short little break in the storm, so we ran across the street to the Welcome Center, which is where the WiFi was coming from. I still can't believe this new tablet picks up WiFi so much better than the old one. This one usually shows 7-8 networks in reach when the other would only show 2-3, and the overall signal strength is just so much better. We got a little wet riding across to the Welcome Center, but it was well worth it. We put our bikes under the building (which was on stilts). We had a place to relax in that was warm, out of the wind and was dry, with chairs, a table, and a bathroom . The lady that was working there was super nice and seemed glad to have some company for a while. While we were there, we continued to check the radar on the internet to see what the outlook looked like. It still didn't look all that great, but the forecast still said that it was supposed to clear up by late afternoon. Since we aren't really in a huge hurry, we decided to just relax and see if it would clear up. I worked on typing some blogs for a while, and Joey looked at the map, made some travel calculations and also talked to John in WV about the Free Wheelchair Mission and what he is setting up for us when we get there. We are getting pretty excited because John himself is excited for us to get there. He has talked to a few schools and we are pretty sure that he has us all set up to talk about our trip to a couple of the schools amongst other things. It's going to be a very nice way to bring the trip to a close when the time comes. I still can't believe that we are already a week into February. I think that it's going to be a real shock come the first of March. Then it's really going to set in how close to being done with the trip we will be. I'm still not ready to be finished, but that might change when we get closer to home (but I doubt I will ever be ready to be done). While we were sitting there relaxing, the lady at the visitor center gave us each a can of Coca- Cola! A nice little treat to cheer us up from the bad weather. Even with the rain, it wasn't all that bad because we had a nice dry place to be, and I was able to be productive. The only one who thought it was bad was Joey because he really wanted to get riding again, but still didn't want to ride in the rain either. At almost the perfect timing, the rain stopped and the sun tried to peak out. Right around 4pm, we were able to venture outside and were happy to not be getting rained on. Before we left, the lady working there gave us each a snack sized bag of pretzels to go, another great little treat! She definitely spoiled us a little! We got re-packed and were back on the road by ten after. The visitor center closed at 4:30, so the storm was right on time. I couldn't believe that there was sunshine for a while! About 5 miles down the road, there was a little bit more rain, but it didn't last long and wasn't nearly as heavy as the rain earlier today. We were able to hide under an overhang for a couple minutes until that little cloud passed by. Almost from then on, it was clear and there was no more rain. Since there weren't going to be any "big" towns for a while, we decided to go to Crawfordville, which was about 5 miles off of the road that we were following (98). In the end though, it won't end up being out of the way because there are connecting roads to meet up with 98 again that we can take tomorrow. Our first stop in town was McDonalds so that we could check out the map and see where things were. We refilled on water and then headed over to the Winn Dixie to get some cereal and milk for the morning since the grocery store is a bit further than we would have like it to be from the road we need to turn on in the morning and from where the main area of town is. We headed over to the Methodist church and sat under their huge overhang for a while. There was a lot going on at the church- two different meetings- one for Relay for Life and the other a church youth group band practicing. It really is amazing how much more the churches down here seem to be used. Almost every night lately, we've been happy to find people at the churches. We ate some mac and cheese with cheddarwurst sausage for dinner there under the overhang, just in case it were to start raining again. We were able to wash our dishes with a hose, too! After eating, we decided that since there were so many people, they all looked super busy, and it wasn't easy for us to distinguish "who was in charge," we would look around town to see if there was someplace else with cars that we could ask to set up the tent. Almost right across the street was the First Baptist Church. There were a whole bunch of cars here too, but everyone looked like they were there for one thing. This church had a really great overhang/ patio that would be perfect to get out of the weather if it happened to rain some more or thunder and lightning! There were even tables and chairs, a security light so we didn't have to be in the dark, and the patio was surrounded by a cute little garden. There was a whole room full of ladies having some kind of dinner meeting. We peaked our heads inside and asked if we could set up our tent. They all said it was ok, and even offered for us to have some pulled pork if we wanted. But since we had just eaten, we didn't really need too much extra food. But- they did have cheesecake, which we couldn't pass up! So, we got our tent all set up, and I even had a place to plug in my dying tablet so that I could do some more typing. I made a few more of our little make shift business cards since we had already run out of them since the last time that I made them. I typed for a while at table and chairs outside of the tent. That really makes a big difference because then I am relatively comfortable and not trying to "sit up" while laying in the tent typing. That usually just ends up putting me to sleep. It was only supposed to get to around 51 degrees out tonight! This is just wonderful! It is going to be hard to get re-acclimated to the cold once we start heading north again! Even still, I sat wrapped up in my sleeping bag to type, I still like to be in a little bundle out of the wind. We didn't make it too far today because of the rain, but I'm still so glad to be dry right now and am glad we didn't have to have an unpleasant day of riding in the pouring rain/ thunder storm. We only made it 40.19 miles today before getting into Crowfordville.
We woke up around 7 and were very glad that we had a dry tent to put away this morning. The bikes and our jackets dried out a little over the night, but not completely- but were still much more dry than if we had camped without an overhang. I don't know how much it ended up raining last night, but everything still looked damp this morning. The sky was full of clouds and we were a little worried that we would get rained on again this morning. As we were packing up, some of the church members were arriving for their early morning bible study with the pastor. There were a few familiar faces from last night along with a few new ones. After getting packed, we asked where the closest grocery store was so that we could get some cereal and milk. It was only about a mile away, which is definitely worth the ride just so we don't have to eat oatmeal. We've been carrying the same little carton of oatmeal and sugar for a while now. We should just eat up the last little bit so we don't have to carry it, but it just doesn't sound good. You never know, we may be out of range from a grocery store for breakfast some morning and be glad that we kept it (but that is looking doubtful- after all, we're on the east coast now- there are grocery stores everywhere. After having some cinnamon toast crunch, we headed off to battle the wind for yet another day. Just down the road from where we camped was a bridge that we ended up crossing right into the Tyndall Air Force Base. Boy was it loud there! There were jets doing "touch and go's" where they would come in for a landing, touch and then take right back off. Jet after jet, one right after another. I just couldn't believe how loud it really was. After getting through the part of the base where the school and all the houses were, we were riding out into "the woods". What seemed at the time like an endless line of trees on both sides of the road was what we had to ride in for about 15-20 miles. It was no different that what it was like riding in Canada or parts of Alaska (except with more traffic of course), but for some reason, it felt like it was dragging on forever for me. Although my legs haven't been all that sore, my butt bones have been hurting the last few days. I think more than even sore legs, the butt is the part that is most noticeably sore after taking a couple days off. I'm sure the sore bottom didn't help those trees go by any faster during that section. Eventually we made it to Mexico Beach. A cute little town with a whole bunch of rental homes and units. Right after getting out of that town, we crossed an important line. We were now in the Eastern Time Zone!! It has been so long since we have been the same time as home, in fact since March 19th, 2012! Every day we feel like we are getting closer and closer to home, but now we feel really close (even with just under 2,000 miles to go)! It was nice to be back riding along the water's edge, however that didn't last all that long. Shortly after ten, the road turned away from the water and back into the wind. By the time we made it to Port St. Joe, I was really ready for lunch. I was feeling a little sleepy from the wind, but nothing too bad. I headed into the grocery store, the Piggly Wiggley, and got a couple more things to use in the rest of our salad mix. To go along with our salad, I ended up getting a package of strawberries, too. The strawberries turned out to be a great treat. They were sweet and juicy, perfect strawberries. We ate lunch at a little table under the overhang of the grocery store just in case it were to rain. Luckily for us, those dark clouds went away and the sun came out! We made a quick stop at the McDonald's for a quick internet check before heading off in the sunshine! It warmed right up, to the point that I didn't even need my light jacket. I love this Florida weather!! We still had a head wind, but with the sunshine, the miles seemed to go by a lot faster. We eventually made it to the town of Apalachicola where we stopped at the grocery store and got a box of fudge Oreos for a little treat. Not too long after getting into Apalachicola, my bicycle odometer hit 17,00 miles! Now this bicycle definitely has more miles on it than my road bike did, by about 1,500 miles at least! As we were leaving Apalachicola under the clear blue sky and sunshine, we had a very long bridge to cross. It had to be close to a 5 mile long bridge. When we got to the other side, we were in a little town called Eastport. We thought about camping there, but decided to keep going to the next town of Greenville. As we continued on and got to the point where Greenville should be, we found out it was one of those towns that was nothing more than an intersection of two roads with a couple houses. It looks like we will be continuing on to the next town that was 13 miles away. I wasn't too excited about this since my bum hurt, but Joey was of course happy because he loves getting extra miles. The road all the way there was right near the water. As the sun was setting behind us we trotted along. It was getting close to dark, so we had to put on our tail lights. About 3 miles from getting into the town of Carrabelle, it was dark enough that we needed to put on our headlights too. Luckily this road doesn't have that much traffic, so we were ok. We stopped at the IGA grocery store in town and got some things for dinner. Since we had made it all the way to where Joey wanted to, I got to get anything I wanted for dinner. By that point I was really hungry and was up for a big huge bowl of pasta and sauce. I got a bag of mozzarella cheese, too. We found out that there was a church just down the road a little ways that would probably have some people there since it was Wednesday night. When we found the church, there were a ton of cars there. It turns out they were having a little service and prayer meeting. We parked our bikes outside and went in to listen to the service. Between the service in their prayer group time, we talked to a couple of the "people in charge" about setting our tent up and they didn't have any problem with it. They also suggested setting up underneath the carport just in case it were to rain. I love when people think like we do- those are always our favorite places to camp because then there are no worries! When they broke off into prayer groups, we joined one of them too. It was really nice having a chance to chit chat with some of the members and get a few more prayers for safe travel at the same time. Those are always appreciated. While we were there, we were offered some lasagna that was left over from the dinner they had during their service, but since we had just bought a bunch of food we decided that we would just have that. So nice of them to offer though! As everyone was starting to leave to head home, a couple of people approached us and asked if we would rather camp under a pavilion at the fire hall where there was a bathroom, electricity, and lights. Now the church sounded like a fine place, but that sounded even better! It turns out that the man that was asking was the fire chief as well as one of the sheriff deputies here in town, so we would have no problem camping there as we had his permission. He led us over to the fire hall, which was only a couple small blocks away. It really was perfect. There was some kind of desk/ table thing outside that we were able to move under the pavilion so that we could use that to cook on. As we were making our pasta and sauce, one of the sheriff deputy's drove through just to make sure everything was ok. I am pretty sure that the fire chief gave them a call so they knew we were there. We had our pasta and sauce, and were both really glad that I got the bag of cheese to go in it too. It was SO yummy. We had a sink in the bathroom to clean everything with, which made it really easy. After snacking on a couple more fudge Oreo cookies, we headed to the tent for the night. My legs were feeling a big sore today probably because I tried to ride for part of the day without putting too much pressure on my sore tooshie. Hopefully it will get a little better tomorrow. Our miles totaled 79.38 today. Hopefully we will get a tailwind one of these days so we can have an "easy" 80 mile day!
